Psychoanalytic therapy is an open-ended exploration of your inner life, oriented toward healing and growth. Rather than managing symptoms or following a structured program, it asks what the symptoms are communicating — attending carefully to language, memory, and the patterns that run through your life. As you follow your thoughts wherever they lead, we listen for what hasn't yet been heard.
Many therapeutic approaches focus on managing symptoms. Psychoanalytic therapy asks how they came to be and what they may be trying to express.
The work takes the form of an honest, open exploration of your inner life. Each session is guided by what is on your mind — what feels present, pressing, or worth following.
People often find themselves surprised by what they discover. New desires emerge. Life starts to feel more coherent and more fully their own.
I accept the following plans, as well as private pay at $200 per 55-minute session. A sliding scale is available for those with demonstrable financial need.
